The facility
is equipped with the latest and most accurate measurement
and reporting technology.
Truckers
are electronically authorized to unload by identifying themselves
with their Personal Identification Number (PIN). They then
select their production source location
from a list of wells and batteries from which they are authorized
to deliver from (minimizing well identification errors). Then
the quantity and quality of each truckload are dynamically
measured by the OPACTS (Octal Petrochemical Automated Custody
Transfer System) provided by ProSoft Technology.
The measurement
hardware was provided by Spartan Controls and consists of
a combination of a Drexelbrook Water Cut Monitor and a Micromotion
Mass Flow Meter Sensor (coriolis meter).
This
combination allows us to dynamically measure:
1. Volume
of load +/- 0.15% accuracy
2. Water Cut to +/- 0.05 % accuracy
3. Specific Gravity to +/- 0.002% accuracy.
The trucker
is provided with a uniquely numbered, dated ticket, detailing
the Gross
Volume of fluid, the Specific Gravity, the water Cut and the
Net Oil and Water in the delivered load. A copy of the ticket
information is retained in the truck-unloading
computer and automatically transmitted to the head office
daily. These numbers provide
an accurate basis for invoicing the owner.
This level
of specific accuracy will help everyone rapidly identify any
unusual deliveries
and will assist in correcting any operational difficulties,
either with the owners systems
or with the intermediate delivery systems.The accuracy of
the system and the dynamic management of the fluid allows
owners delivering “within specification” loads (less
than 0.3% Water Cut average for the load) to have their production
handled as clean oil, and
only charged the basic terminal fee.
